The Student Wordsmith will be hosting its first Student Wordsmith Awards Night at 18:45 Saturday, 16 April 2016, at the Loughborough University Students’ Union in Loughborough, Leicestershire.

The Student Wordsmith is an online writing and publishing presence for budding creatives. It was founded by Loughborough University student Sophie-Louise Hyde, who is currently pursuing her PhD in English. The Student Wordsmith hosts several different writing competitions, and they have published young writers’ work in various collections which are available in their online shop or on Amazon.

This awards night will celebrate the Student Wordsmith’s third birthday by bringing together all the writers whose work has been published in print or online by the Student Wordsmith and honouring them with awards in a variety of categories.

In addition to the presentation of the awards, the event will feature guest performances from writers and poets, as well as an exhibition featuring creative and enterprising organisations to help young writers network in the industry. Dinner and wine will be served, and each guest will be provided with a special goodies bag.

Early-bird tickets will go on sale for £25 from 30 December 2015 and will be available until 25 January 2016. After 25 January, regular tickets will be available for £30 until the event, or until they sell out. You can purchase your tickets in advance here.
