Unveiling Art at Tate Britain
Visit the House Warming Party 23 November 2013 to view the unveiling of the Tate Britain and its newly renovated spaces. Additions and changes to the building include a main entrance on Millbank, brand new learning studios, a cafe and bar, and a re-hung collection. The one-day free event boasts a wide array of activities in a variety of disciplines that is sure to appeal to all visitors.
The House Warming Party at the Tate Britain has a jam-packed programme of events that are sure to entertain and engage. The activities include live music, talks, workshops, special artist commissions, films, and more. Participants in the event include some of the absolute best of the British creative scene such as Alexis Taylor, James Blackshaw, Salon London, Keith Coventry, and Tate Collective, a group that offers young people 15-25 the chance to collaborate with artists through events, projects, and programmes.
Arrive early and you could win a signed exclusive copy of Keith Coventry’s limited edition print specially created for the event. Live music will be performed throughout the day, including a DJ set by Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip and an acoustic set by James Blackshaw. There also will be workshops and talks with some of the UK’s brightest talent, including a workshop with fashion designer Emma Yeo on how to create a sculptural headdress and a discussion with Salon London about the concept of time. Finally, tours throughout the museum will be put on throughout the day and there will even be the chance to win fantastic prizes in a treasure hunt.
