Summer in Southside
The Birmingham Festival that proves you don’t need to spend money to have a good time. Summer in Southside will be a weekend of outdoor performances on 3 August and 24 to 25 August 1-5pm.
Summer in Southside performances will be taking place all around you, be warned, you may become a part of some of the shows…
Events include NoFit State Circus (video above) who will be performing improvised stunts and tricks. They invite you to run away with them (well for at least a couple of hours) to learn some of their skills, running free workshops.
What’s better, an Indian Mela or a Caribbean Carnival? Trick question. The answer is BOTH. Chutney bring a blend of Bollywood and Trinidad to Southside and will have you quite literally dancing in the streets.
Remember Supermarket Sweep? Imagine exactly that but with ballet dancers. C-12 Dance Theatre (sadly not including Dale Winton) will be combining their street dance, ballet and shopping skills to perform over the bank holiday weekend. Not to be missed.
To see the full line up of Summer at Southside visit the official website. Performances will be taking place throughout each day at the Hippodrome SQ, Hippodrome Dock, Arcadian, Inge Street and Hurst Street. All performances are FREE!
