Making Museums Relevant
The National Maritime Museum at having a Recruitment Day for their Youth Advisory Group on Saturday 19 October.
The opportunity is a chance to pad your CV with skills that make you stand out from the crowd. The Youth Advisory Group exists to make the Museum accessible and relevant to young people. It is a chance to help organise events and workshops as well as share your ideas on how the Museum can be improved behind the scenes. You’ll improve your communication skills and learn what it is like to work as part of a team. Best of all, no experience is necessary so you shouldn’t be afraid to stand up and have your voice heard! Aspiring curators will probably find the opportunity especially useful.
You’ll meet once a month outside of school hours – though there is scope to become more involved during the school holidays if you’re interested in gaining more experience.
If you’d like to attend the Recruitment Day – where you’ll find out more about YAG and what they have on offer – visit the website for information on how to reserve a free space.
