Introducing the BBC’s latest bid to promote young artistic talent: BBC Young Dancer 2015, which is on the hunt for the UK’s best dance performers between the ages of 16 to 20. The competition takes place in four categories–Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop and South Asian dance.

The competition, which is open to video entries until Nov. 1, consists of three rounds. Dancers will be judged on criteria including technical command, creative and expressive ability, and dedication. After each round, performers will receive feedback from the judges with advice about what worked best and tips on how to improve. Dancers who progress through the rounds will have the opportunity to dance for leading professionals in their genre of choice. New choreography will be designed especially for the finalists, who will have the chance to work alongside choreographers and top dance practitioners. Finals will take place on the main stage at Sadler’s Wells on 9th May 2015, and broadcast to a UK-wide television audience.

The winner will receive a specially-commissioned trophy and £3000 to help further their dance studies, so get your entries in today!
