Get Involved with the London Design Festival
For the fifth year running, the V&A will host one of London’s largest art & design festivals, featuring a broad range of commissioned activity. The festival will have installations, events, talks, and workshops from creative professionals within the fields of art, architecture, and graphic design. Partner organisations will also be operating throughout the London area, hosting further events and workshops at venues like the Southbank Centre, Gallery S O on Brick Lane, and Somerset House to name just a few.
ARTS THREAD and the V&A, as apart of London design festival, are offering a FREE workshop and talks with professional journalists for young people and graduates who are hoping to establish their online identities. The talks will offer advice on how to use and market yourself through social media, blogs, online newsletters. The workshop is held in the Sackler Centre Digital Studio until September 14, from 10am-5pm.
London Design festival 2013: Global Design Forum
Dezeen, the leading Online Design Magazine, is offering readers the chance to win one of five pairs of tickets (worth £395 each) to the Global Design Forum event as a part of the London Design Festival in London on 16September at the V&A Museum and on 17 September at the Southbank Centre.
First held in 2012, the Global Design Forum held the ‘future of design’ debate; a talk between key industry professionals within the field of Art & Design
The first night of the event at the V&A on 16 September will open with artist and designer Peter Saville in conversation with journalist Peter Morley. While the second day event will feature designers Ross Lovegrove, Jaime Hayón and Michael Young, as well as 20 international speakers. One setion of the day will even allow for aspiring entrepreneurs and inventors will present their innovations to a panel of experts then the audience will vote for their favourite.

Competition closes 12 September 2013. Five winners will be selected at random and notified by email. Winners’ names will be published in a future edition of our Dezeen Mail newsletter and at the top of this page. Dezeen competitions are international and entries are accepted from readers in any country.
