The 7th Cultureword Black & Asian Writers Conference and Festival promises a host of events and activities. Whether you’re hoping to liaise with literary agents and Penguin publishers or attend a book launch – there’s plenty to do! The conference is a celebration of diversity in the industry and a chance to network with other aspiring writers just like you!

The morning will feature a discussion on writing for children with acclaimed authors such as Malorie Blackman, Melvin Burgess and Bali Rai. Later on in the day, other panels will host conversations on Women and LGBT issues. Several book launches will be taking place on the day as well – be there to see the likes of Samuel Shimon and Thoma Glave.  There’s a Lunchtime Digital Writer’s Salon where you can discover the possibilities for digital writing and a Young People’s Performance Workshop to learn mic techniques and how to improve stage presence. The evening concludes with a session of poetry from the legendary Julian Daniel.

The Conference takes place on October 19 in Manchester. Visit the website to find more information about the day’s events and learn how to book your ticket!
