First Graphic Novel Competition
Calling all graphic novelists – finally a competition just for you! This is only open to you if you have never published a full-length graphic work before but this mean it is perfect for those who are aspiring or just starting out. If you win, you will be offered the chance to work on your novel with Myriad’s creative and editorial team in the hopes that this will lead to the eventual publication of your work. You will also have the opportunity to spend a week-long author’s retreat in a studio near Angouleme, France (where the International Comics Festival has been held for the past 40 years)
The judges for the 2014 First Graphic Novel Competition include the likes of Meg Rosoff – acclaimed author of the amazing How I Live Now; Corinne Pearlman – the Creative Director of Myriad Editions; Nicola Streeten – author of graphic memoir Billy, Me & You as well as others who are established within the industry. Enter the competition and you could have your work read by a panel of amazingly talented people!
Details on how to enter can be found on the Myriad Editions website. There is a small entry fee of £10 but this is only for administrative purposes. The deadline is Monday 3 March 2014 so if you have an idea but have yet to put pen to paper, now is the time to start!
