Filmmakers Get Fresh
Fresh Online is a BBC online space that seeks to showcase the talent of factual filmmakers. They’re currently looking for short films between 2 and 10 minutes in length to be published on the site. Applicants must be 16 or over and you should not have previously directed a documentary for a network television. Entry is completely free however so really, you have nothing to lose!
The BBC want documentaries that speak to young people and the issues and problems they face today. Rites of passage moments, relationships, crime, identity, sexuality, multi-culturalism, religion – these are just some of the themes to consider when you’re thinking about the kind of documentary you would like to produce. The BBC are clear that not only is this an opportunity for your work to be showcased but also a way to experiment, express creativity and discover new things about yourself.
