The London International Animation Festival is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a host of events! LIAF has always aimed to prove that animation is not just for children and this year’s series of screenings is testament to the fact.

Opening night begins with a gala screening a range of films – new and old. Many of the screenings throughout the festival will feature Q&As perfect for asking for advice and any other information you think might be useful to you as an artist. There are international programmes as well as a British Showcase. If you’re particularly interested in 3D make sure to check out the National Film Board of Canada’s programme as they have one of the most sophisticated 3D stereoscopic labs in the world. Fans of the horror genre will be pleased with the special screening featuring 10 of LIAF’s very best horror films.

Partnering with Creative Skillset, the festival will also host a series of panels about the animation industry. It is your chance to learn about coding, sustaining your career, the importance of sound and more. If you’re a little younger you can attend the ‘Make a Spooky Film’ workshop where the BAFTA-winning Kevin Griffiths will be on hand to guide you through a step-by-step process on how to make your own animated film.

LIAF will conclude with the Best of the Fest – treat yourself to the highlights of the festival and watch as awards are handed out to the best in show.

The London International Animation Festival takes place from 25 October – 3 November. Visit the official website to find more information about this year’s programme and learn how you can book tickets.
